"PAINT SAMPLE" MOSAICS
Student Work, "Paint Sample" Mosaics
My students created mosaics while studying ancient Greece.
First we viewed the NOVA program,
"Lost Roman Treasure," in which archaeologists tried to save Roman mosaics, from a site in Turkey.

Students created a mosaic cover design for an historical fiction piece, each student wrote.
The free paint samples at the local paint supply stores always intrigued me. I got the idea to use these paint samples to create mosaic art. As you can see above, each strip has many ranges of color. The textures are appealing and they are easy to cut and glue into place with a glue stick. The results as you can imagine are spectacular.
